This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop with us online or in store, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
UK Aquatics Ltd (company number 11776333) runs www.uk-aquatics.com and our shop at Unit 2, Butts Close, Thornton Cleveleys, FY5 4HT. We are the “data controller” for the personal information described here, which means we decide how it’s used and are responsible for looking after it.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number C2060736.

We never see or store your full card details. Card payments are handled securely by our payment providers (see below).
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share what’s needed with trusted companies that help us run the business:
- Couriers (APC Couriers and, for local deliveries, our own drivers) — your name, address and phone number, to deliver your order.
- Payment providers — Stripe, PayPal and Klarna process your payment. They have their own privacy policies.
- Website hosting and IT — our web developer and hosting company (20i), who keep the site running and secure.
- Email and messaging services we use to send order confirmations and reply to you, including WhatsApp if you message us there.
- Our accountants, and HMRC where the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK’s approved data transfer agreements.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
- Order and sales records: 6 years after the end of the tax year, as required by HMRC.
- Customer accounts: until you ask us to close your account, or after 3 years without any orders.
- Messages and complaints: up to 2 years after the matter is resolved.
- Marketing: until you unsubscribe.
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to customer information is limited to staff who need it, and our providers are required to keep your data secure.
Cookies and marketing
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit our website.
- Essential cookies keep your basket, checkout and login working. The site can’t work without them.
- Optional cookies, such as Google Analytics, help us understand how people use the site. We only set these if you agree through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
Marketing emails: we’ll only send you news and offers if you’ve signed up, or if you’ve bought from us before and didn’t opt out. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can contact us to stop them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- see the information we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it by law, for example tax records
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive a copy of your information to pass to another company
- withdraw your consent to marketing or optional cookies at any time
To use any of these rights, email info@uk-aquatics.com or call 01253 866011. We’ll respond within one month, free of charge.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
