Like all other ATM products, ATM HOT SALT REEF 200 GAL BOX 25kg is a commercial grade, high quality product proven at the highest levels of aquarium keeping. For too long, “parameters” have been marketed as the only benchmark of quality. But this is a remedial expectation of a quality salt. What separates the professional formula of Hot SaltTM from other consumer salts is the degree of purity. Hot Salt is the combination of high quality “anhydrous” raw materials that have little to no water embedded within the salt’s chemical structure. Embedded moisture found in other brands of salt typically represents the single largest source of salt contamination: High levels of ammonia, phosphates, organic material and even heavy metals. Absent of this embedded moisture, Hot SaltTM absorbs water so rapidly it develops an exothermic reaction that heats up the salt until fully hydrated.
Because Hot SaltTM utilizes naturally occurring anhydrous raw materials, it finds its equilibrium faster than other salts. As opposed to 24 hours or longer for other brands, Hot Salt is ready to use in only one hour!
INSTRUCTIONS Measure 1 lb (453.5 g) of ATM Hot Salt™ per 3.6 (US) gal (13.7 l) of pure water to achieve about a 33 ppt salinity or 1.023 specific gravity at about 77 ˚F (25 ˚C). Using this measurement, 3.78 grams of Hot Salt™ will achieve a salt concentration of about 1 ppt per gal (3.78 l). Always mix Hot Salt™ in a separate container prior to introducing to any aquarium. Depending on the mineral content of the “make up” water, Hot Salt™ may show haze for 5–20 minutes while it finds an equilibrium with minerals and salts already present within the “make up” water. Hot Salt mix is ready to use after one hour.
