Blue Shark Colony Marine Nitrifying Bacteria is a concentrated live bacterial culture designed to rapidly establish biological filtration in marine and reef aquariums.

It contains true marine nitrifying bacteria, including Nitrosococcus and Nitrococcus, which help convert toxic ammonia into nitrite and then into less harmful nitrate. This allows the biological filter to establish far more quickly than relying on natural bacterial colonisation alone.

Directions

Shake the bottle vigorously before use. Dose according to the total aquarium volume. For best results maintain marine water at approximately 23–30°C, pH 7.9–8.3 and at least 90ppm total alkalinity.

Turn off UV sterilisers, protein skimmers and ozone equipment before dosing and leave them off for approximately 4–5 days. Avoid water changes during the first four days while the bacteria establish.
